Inclusive Excellence and Writing: A Best Practices Retreat

The Office of Inclusive Excellence proudly presents a Writing Workshop for early-career scholars and Junior Faculty, taking place on June 24, 2026 in the UCLA Meyer Luskin Center. In this special full-day workshop, participants will learn to enhance their writing practice, and ultimately become better and more effective writers on their journey to tenure and promotion.

We have slots for up to 20 participants. Continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

  • Time: 8 am-5 pm (Workshop), 5:30 pm (Dinner)
  • Place: UCLA Meyer Luskin Conference Center (*)

(*) Accepted applicants will receive the room details and exact time-frame via follow-up email.

The Workshop will feature three (3) sessions:

— The first session is meant for you to understand yourself and create good writing habits.

— The second session covers the expectations of writing for tenure and promotion in your department and beyond.

— The third session will help faculty understand when and where to publish on the way to tenure and promotion.
